Meet The Creator

Kumusta?
I am Sarah Bansil, the founder of Pera Diaries. Outside this journal, I am an accountant and a certified bookkeeper.

Yes. I'm an accountant, but also a writer.

And yes. Accountants can write too!

Oh, wait. Before you assume that this website is for an accounting or consultancy business somewhere in the Philippines, let me clarify it.

Pera Diaries is a blog created only to share useful content about various topics related to money. I do not own an accounting or consultancy business. All articles published on my website are solely for informational and educational purposes only and do not constitute professional financial advice.

So, why did I build Pera Diaries?

Let me share a bit of my story.
Way back when I was in college, writing activity was just a hobby. It was my quick escape from the stressful life of a college student. But I didn't give much attention to it because I focused on my accounting career and developing my abilities in that area.

For more than five years of professional experience, I have seen how many individuals and businesses manage their money. Well, numbers don't lie. Accountants know if you are financially healthy or at the brink of insolvency.

Some of my friends also tell me their frustration with keeping and monitoring their finances. Some fail to organize their funds, while others struggle to allocate their earnings to their financial needs. I've heard a lot of different stories about financial problems. And I realized that perhaps, I could help my friends by sharing some easy-to-understand-accounting-tips to manage their finances effectively.

With that idea, I decided to create Pera Diaries to share my knowledge about finance, accounting, business, and anything that relates to money.

I know that Pera Diaries is just a baby, compared to several personal finance blogs existing today. But that is totally alright. You know, even Albert Einstein and other great personalities in the world were once a baby.

Whenever I feel discouraged, I always remind myself with these words:

Do not falter with all the towering names over you. Enjoy the process of your growth and take every failure as an opportunity to learn.

I believe that money matters, but it does not mean that it is the endpoint of success. Money serves as your wheels – the best tool that you can have to get to your desired destination. And the way how you see and utilize it defines your character in achieving your goals in life.

How about you? How do you see money in your life? How do you use it to reach success?
